Reference No. EM 2019/2The Institute Methods for Material Developmentis looking for Postdoctoral Scientist (m/f/d) in the field of Physics, Engineering or equivalent TasksEnhancement of a few-optical-cycle, high-repetition-rate, 100-µJ-level near infrared OPCPA laser systemDevelopment of a few-optical-cycle, high-repetition-rate, mJ-level infrared OPCPA laser beam lineApplication of the developed laser beam line to produce an ultrashort pulse, high-flux, soft X-ray source for condensed-phase, time-resolved spectroscopy applicationsRegular maintenance and characterisation of the LIDUX Labroatory laser systemScientific work within a clean room environmentRequirementsCompleted PhD in Physics, Engineering or equivalentExtensive experience with non-linear optics and the design, maintenance, operation, and characterisation of ultrashort pulse, high-power laser systemsDemonstrable experience with optical parametric amplifiers and the generation, characterisation, and delivery of few-optical cycle laser pulsesAt least three years of practical laser laboratory experienceExperience in publishing scientific resultsAbility to work in a team and a high level of self-reliance are a mustExcellent English language skills Further Information Dr. Iain Wilkinson030 8062 42016 oder 030 8062 15001iain.wilkinson@helmholtz-berlin.de Closing Date: 08.04.2019 apply
