Salary: Grade 3: £19,202 - £21,414 p.a.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and flexible Administrative Assistant to join our Administrative Team within the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology. You will have responsibility for general administrative support within the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, handling a range of administrative tasks for the Director’s office and across the Institute as a whole


You will assist the Director’s Executive Assistant with travel arrangements, expenses claims, event organisation and general tasks. You will assist the Senior Scientific Writer to produce and maintain sources of information including for reports, the website and social media, as needed and to ensure that researcher's publications records are up-to-date. You will make administrative arrangements for seminars, events and maintain and publish the schedule of Institute meetings events. Other duties will include providing cover the Receptionist and being an Oracle shopper raising Purchase Orders.


You will be educated to GCSE (or equivalent), grade C or above in Maths and English. You will have previous experience of managing administrative processes as well as working as part of a team in a busy office environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills with experience of standard MS Office packages are essential, as is excellent attention to detail. Willingness to undertake relevant training and experience of working in an academic or research environment would be an advantage.


This is a full-time position, fixed-term for 3 years in the first instance.


Owing to the nature of the research at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, this job will require a satisfactory basic Disclosure and Barring Service check.
