Full Professor (W3) in Distributed Control Systems Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
We are seeking qualified applicants for teaching and research in the area of distributed control systems. The starting date is Aug. 1st, 2019 or soon thereafter. Recognized expertise in at least one of the following areas is required:
- distributed and cooperative control systems
- advanced nonlinear control and systems theory
- reliability and high availability of distributed control systems
- adaptive autonomous systems
Futhermore, experience in control applications is appreciated, e.g. in cyber physical systems/industry 4.0, system biology, transportation systems, industrial automation, or robotics. Participating in the future activities of Jülich Aachen Research Alliance (JARA) is possible and desirable.
A Ph.D. degree is required; additionally, Habilitation (post-doctoral lecturing qualification), an exemplary record of re-search achievement as an assistant / an associate / a junior professor or university researcher and/or an outstanding ca-reer outside academia are highly desirable. Ability in and commitment to teaching are essential. The application should include supporting documents regarding success in teaching. German is not necessary to begin but will be expected as a teaching language within the first 5 years.
We expect active contributions to teaching including the development of new M.Sc. courses, especially in the area of systems and automation.
