Research Assistant/Associate (Compound/Population Summaries) – Certara UK LTD (Simcyp Division)

Holiday Entitlement: 25 days, plus statutory bank holidays
Salary: £23,000 – £30,000 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience (plus discretionary bonus, pension contribution, health scheme etc.)
Location: Sheffield, UK (must be eligible to work in the UK)

Job Overview:
We have an immediate opening for a junior scientist. Working as part of a team, the successful applicant will have a key role in updating and ensuring the quality of the databases and reports associated within the Simcyp Simulator. The candidate should have familiarity with literature searching, and data collation and analysis. The successful applicant should work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in the tasks they undertake. The ability to check and critique the work of other scientists is also an important requirement for this position.
The successful candidate will join an internationally recognised, multidisciplinary research team, providing opportunities for further development of knowledge and skills. The post does not include laboratory or clinical work. We offer a unique and exciting mix of academic and commercial environments which encourage regular attendance at scientific meetings as part of our continuous education programs.

Requirements:
Essential
 BSc (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field (e.g. chemical, biological or Pharmaceutical Science).
 Knowledge of in vitro assays used in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic studies.
 Demonstrable skills in literature searching and data compilation and analysis.
 Demonstrable communication skills and good interpersonal and organizational skills.

Desirable
 Some understanding of modelling and simulation principles of physiological and biological systems.
 Some experience with the R package would be beneficial.
 Experience in some aspects of QA would be beneficial.
