Alan Wilson Research Fellowship 2019
The Governing Body of Emmanuel College, Cambridge invites applications from outstanding researchers in Medical and Biological Sciences (Pharmacology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pathology, Neuroscience and Chemical Engineering) for the Alan Wilson Research Fellowship. This Fellowship is intended for researchers early in their careers: successful candidates are likely to be in the latter stages of their research leading to a PhD degree, or post-doctoral researchers who have been awarded their PhD degree after 1 October, 2017. The Fellowship is for a three-year fixed term, and is expected to commence on 1 October, 2019. Candidates should note that these Fellowships are extremely competitive.
The Fellow will undertake an independent program of research. For laboratory projects, applicants must arrange a host laboratory in the Cambridge area before applying.
The stipend for Research Fellows is related to the national academic scale. The current stipends are £24,507 (£32,237 if not resident in College) for post-doctoral Research Fellows and £23,012 (£30,741 if not resident in College) for pre-doctoral Research Fellows. Fellows are permitted to receive additional remuneration for up to six hours College or University teaching a week.

Candidates should send their completed application form along with a CV and covering letter by ordinary mail to the Bursar so as to reach the College by 5pm on 15th April 2019 at the very latest. Candidates should also arrange for three people familiar with their research to send references to the Bursar so as to reach him by 15th April 2019 (it is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that these references are sent).
