The University of Bristol wishes to appoint a highly talented individual with training in health economics and who has a particular interest in randomised controlled trials (RCTs) to develop their career as an academic health economist. You will join the Health Economics at the University of Bristol (HEB) research group and work closely with the Bristol Randomised Trials Collaboration (BRTC) Clinical Trials Unit. The main purpose of this job is to contribute to the Unit’s portfolio of high quality clinical and methodological research, particularly in the use of economic evaluation methods to generate and synthesize evidence based on randomised controlled trials.
With supervision from a senior economist, you will use your skills to help design the health economic aspects of trials and contribute to grant applications. You will also be involved in the conduct, analysis and interpretation of the cost-effectiveness aspects of funded trials (sometimes including decision analysis models) and will disseminate results via publications and conference presentations to change policy and practice.
You must have a Masters degree in health economics or closely related discipline.
