The Faculty of Medicine invites applications for a

Professorship (W2) (6 years/tenure track) of Dermatology and Venereology with main emphasis on Immuno-Dermatology

commencing on 1 April 2019.

The professorship is located at the Department of Dermatology and Allergy at the University Hospital of LMU Munich.

The position will represent the field of Immuno-Dermatology as part of Dermatology in academic teaching, research and clinics with national and international visibility. Candidates should demonstrate scientific excellence in basic and translational research, and engage in clinical studies and interdisciplinary facilities. This includes the management of patients with inflammatory skin disease. A major focus will be on laboratory and translational research in inflammatory skin disease such as neutrophilic dermatoses, adverse cutaneous drug reactions, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis or lymphoproliferative skin disease.

LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified junior academic clinician-scientist to this professorship and, therefore, especially encourages early-career scholars to apply. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree and a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification. With an excellent record in clinics, research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career.

Further prerequisites are internationally excellent scientific publi-cations in the field of Immuno-Dermatology, successful acquisition of external funding and a board certification in Dermatology and Venereology.

The initial appointment will be for six years. After a minimum of three years, it can be converted into a permanent position pending a positive evaluation of the candidate’s performance in research and teaching as well as his or her personal aptitude and if all legal conditions are met.
