The appointment will be on UCL Grade . The salary range will be Grade 8 £43,884 – £51,769 per annum or Grade 9 £56,266 – £61,181 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The UCL Centre for Biodiversity and Environment Research (CBER), Research Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment (GEE), is seeking to recruit an outstanding individual developing world-class research in an area of ecology.
The post holder will undertake independent and collaborative research examining aspects of interactions between biodiversity and environmental change.
The post holder’s research interests may include, but are not restricted to: community ecology, adaptation to environmental change, and/or ecosystem services. We particularly welcome applicants with expertise in plant ecology, and those using empirical field and experimental systems.
The post holder will be encouraged to establish collaborations with colleagues working at UCL, both within GEE and the wider UCL community, as well as at related institutions in London, including the Zoological Society of London, the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and the Natural History Museum. The successful applicant will also contribute to UCL’s portfolios of graduate and undergraduate teaching.
The successful candidate must have a PhD or equivalent qualification, an outstanding contribution to a body of knowledge and an international research profile with commensurate, sustained research or other outcomes appropriate to the discipline.
The candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching and evidence of contributions to the management or administration of an academic Department, or Faculty.
The candidate must demonstrate successful collaboration with other research teams/institutions and significant and sustained success in obtaining research grants.
