Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in SolidState Molecular Organometallic (SMOM) Chemistry and Catalysis, to work under the supervision of Professor Andrew Weller on a research project funded by SCG Chemicals Co. Ltd, for a period of up to two years. The project will involve optimising recently developed systems in the Weller laboratories and designing and implementing new SMOM systems for challenging CH activation catalysis.

The successful applicant will hold PhD in Chemistry in Organometallic or Coordination Chemistry (or be close to completion). The successful applicant will have expertise in synthetic organometallic chemistry, multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and the collection and refinement of singlecrystal X-ray data. Experience of catalysis is highly desirable.
Duties include collecting data, analysing and reviewing scientific data, and managing own academic research and administrative activities, involving small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, 12 Mansfield Road, OX1 3TA and is available from 1 May, or as soon as possible thereafter.
