Dr. Weifeng Gu’s lab, located at Dept. of Molecular, Cell and Systems Biology, UC Riverside, focuses on small noncoding RNA/RNAi-mediated gene regulation and antiviral response. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc to examine RNAi-mediated antiviral responses in C. elegans and mammalian systems and how modifications regulate the stability and functions of small RNAs. This research involves RNA biology and modifications, antiviral RNAi, genomics, bioinformatics and cell biology. The candidate is expected to have extensive knowledge and skills in RNA biology, biochemistry and genetics. The skill in bioinformatics and worm genetics is a plus. This position is funded by NIH and will support a postdoc for 4-5 years with a competitive salary and benefit. UC Riverside is a great place for working and affordable living.
