Salary: Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 p.a.
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Postdoctoral Research Scientist with a PhD or equivalent combination of training and experience in structural biology. The Metabolism and Organelle Biogenesis group at the SGC Oxford uses high-end structural and biophysical approaches to enzyme mechanism and genetic diseases. In collaboration with the Pfizer Rare Disease Research Unit, the group is developing a research programme to study the molecular mechanisms of glycogen metabolism, with the objective of identifying novel therapeutic avenues for associated genetic diseases.
You should have an excellent academic or industrial track record in protein biochemistry and structural biology. Experience in recombinant expression, biophysical characterisation, and structure determination (X-ray crystallography/cryo-electron microscopy) of protein-protein complexes will be required.
You will possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with a good publication record. You should be able to work as part of a team that involves frequent interaction with scientists at Pfizer. Flexibility, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines is also essential.
This is a fixed-term contract until 19 December 2020. You must be able to start in Spring 2019.
