A postdoctoral fellowship within the field of Paediatric Immunology is available at the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, Linköping University
We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate with documented experience and a strong research interest in translational paediatric allergology and immunology. The candidate will focus on evaluation of the allergy preventive and immunomodulatory effects of pre- and postnatal probiotic and omega-3 fatty acid supplementation in children participating in a double-blind randomized placebo-controlled trial. The position entails collaborative work within a team of doctoral and post-doctoral students, principal research engineers and paediatric allergologists.
Our translational research focuses on childhood immune and allergy development in relation to maternal immunity and microbial and dietary exposures. We combine advanced laboratory methodology with careful, long-term, clinical follow-up during pregnancy and childhood with excellent compliance rates, also in randomised placebo-controlled intervention studies.
Requirements: A doctorate in a related field is required, granted by a University outside of Sweden, and granted within the past 3 years, with extensions allowed for documented parental leave, military service, etc. The applicant should have a doctoral degree in immunology, allergology, or similar field, and must have demonstrated successful completion of projects during the graduate thesis studies.
Practical experience with cellular, immunological and molecular biology techniques is required. Experience with multiplex analyses and bioinformatic techniques will be considered advantageous. Strong communication skills in English are required.

Appointment time: The appointment will be for a two year period, renewable after one year, conditional upon suitable performance.
Starting date: The target date is upon agreement but provisionally set for the spring/summer of 2019.
Salary: The salary for postdoctoral fellow is based on a fixed monthly stipend according to LiU regulations.
