Cancer Research Faculty
Gundersen Medical Foundation, La Crosse, Wisconsin Gundersen Medical Foundation is seeking an outstanding scientist who will join the faculty of the Kabara Cancer Research Institute (KCRI) to develop and lead an independent research team focused on cancer biology. The position is at the rank of Senior Research Scientist. KCRI is part of the Gundersen Health System and is located on the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse campus. The Gundersen Health System is the Western Academic Campus of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and adjunct faculty appointments at UW-Madison at the appropriate rank may be arranged for suitably qualified candidates. Institute resources include: research laboratory space for cell and molecular biology, Ion Torrent S5 sequencing capability, Biobank with more than 15,000 cancer specimens, and a mouse research facility with in vivo imaging. Gundersen Medical Foundation provides additional academic assistance including access to grant writers, medical writers and biostatisticians. Collaborative engagement in translational cancer medicine and/or genomics with physicians in the Departments of Hematology/Oncology and Pathology at Gundersen Health System are strongly encouraged. Research in the Gundersen Medical Foundation is supported by both philanthropy and research grants. The ideal candidate may be an established group leader or be embarking on their first faculty position but will have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD and several high quality publications in English-language journals. Applications from candidates with an interest in precision medicine are particularly encouraged. Gundersen Health System offers a competitive compensation package.
