The Pharmaceutical Institute, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Bonn, Germany, invites applications for
a full Professorship for Pharmaceutical / Medicinal Chemistry (W3)
to be appointed at October 1st, 2019.
The holder of the position will be responsible for the full range of the subject Pharmaceutical Chemistry in accordance with the licensing regulations for pharmacists in Germany. We are looking for a scientist with an international reputation in the field of pharmaceutical/medicinal chemistry. Relevant experience in teaching and the willingness for interdisciplinary cooperation are requested, licensure as a pharmacist is desired.
Collaboration in projects of Pharmacy and the PharmaCenter Bonn is required. The research focus should be in one of the following areas: macromolecular agents including antibodies, nucleic acids or cellular therapies, structure-based and computer-aided drug design, pharmaceutical bio- and chemoinformatics, identification, characterization and validation of drug targets – or another innovative field of pharmaceutical/medical chemistry.
Networking opportunities with other research areas within the Pharmaceutical Institute, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and the Faculty of Medicine should be utilized and further developed.
In addition, participation in the Master’s program “Drug Research” as well as participation in the PharmaCenter Bonn and the Bonn International Graduate School “Drug Sciences” (BIGS DrugS) is expected. Participation in the advanced training course “Drug Regulatory Affairs” is desired.
Scientific achievements should be proven by a habilitation or equivalent scientific qualifications.
Candidates have to comply with the general prerequisites in accordance with § 36 Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act) of the Federal State of Northrhine-Westphalia.
