Research Assistant in Blood Stem Cell Development

Salary: Grade 6: £28,660 - £34,189 p.a.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant to join the research group of Dr Marella de Bruijn. The research group is interested in how blood and immune cells are generated in mammalian development.

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out experiments designed to advance specific semi-independent projects using a range of different techniques.

You will have a degree in biological sciences and a period of relevant practical working experience within a laboratory. Strong organisational skills, experience in mouse husbandry, and experience in core techniques including molecular biology, imaging, cell culture, flow cytometry, and basic bioinformatics are essential to the post. A demonstrable interest in developmental haematopoiesis is desirable.

The post is available immediately, fixed-term until 31 March 2022, funded by the Medical Research Council.
