Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Cancer Genetics

Salary: Grade 7: Salary in range £32,236 - £37,345 p.a.

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Cancer Genetics to join Gastrointestinal Stem Cell Biology Laboratory led by Professor Simon Leedham at the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics.

You will work on the ACRCelerate project, a CRUK-funded, multicentre, international platform to accelerate colorectal cancer preclinical drug testing. You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

You will have a PhD (or close to completion) in molecular biology or relevant subject and a personal home office licence (or equivalent qualification for your country of residence). You will have experience of maintaining in vivo models and experience of basic methods of molecular genetics including cell culture. You will also have the ability to deliver results to the required standard and schedule. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to work independently as well as in a team and to manage the day-to-day running of a research project.

This position is fixed-term for 2 years in the first instance, with the expectation of renewal and funded by Cancer Research UK.
