Interdisciplinary Data Science Research in Berlin – fully-funded PhD fellowships
The Helmholtz Einstein International Research School in Data Science (HEIBRiDS) invites applications of PhD candidates for fellowships in the research areas listed below. HEIBRiDS provides a collaborative research environment across disciplinary borders. Dissertation projects will be interdisciplinary of nature, combining Data Science with applications in medicine, systems biology, energy storage, geophysics and astronomy.
Topics belong to one or more of the following areas:
• Deep Learning
• Data management
• Novel Tools and Algorithms
• Mathematical Modelling

Research will be conducted in topical clusters at one of the research centers of the partner institutes in the capital region:
• Max-Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC)
• Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY)
• Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB)
• German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ)
in cooperation with the participating university institutions:
• Technische Universität Berlin (TU)
• Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin
• Freie Universität Berlin (FU)
• Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU)

To apply, a master’s degree in quantitative sciences (computer science, physics, statistics or mathematics) or related applied field (bio- or geoinformatics etc.), awarded by July 2019, is required.
