The TAL is a Core Facility at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) and provides flexible high throughput genomic services, deep sequencing (NGS),microarray and Nanostring solutions including experimental know-how and data analysis.
The successful candidate will work within a team in a multidisciplinary environment. The work will focus on the development and application of workflows for the integrative analyses of various genome-wide datasets derived from massively parallel sequencing (RNA-seq, small RNA-seq, whole-genome-seq, ChIP-seq, MeDIP-seq, etc). Further tasks include guidance of partners and clients with design of experiments and
interpretation of analysis results.
Candidates should have a strong background in bioinformatics, computational biology or biostatistics, be looking for a collaborative and dynamic environment, and have a proven track record of productivity. Competent handling of the Linux operating system and programming skills in R/BioConductor are strongly desired. A PhD or prior
experience manipulating NGS datasets is an asset but not a requirement. Good command of German and English language are vital for collaboration with our clients and partners.
