The postdoctoral research fellow is a full-time position under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI). Primary responsibilities are to work independently to design, organize, and carry out research experiments for projects under the direction of the PI, and to supervise technical support personnel.
Candidates with strong research track record and an expected or recent PhD in molecular biology, immunology, cell biology, or related biological degree are encouraged to apply. The person must be reliable, pay attention to detail, be meticulous in record keeping, be capable of working independently, possess superior verbal and written communication skills, and be capable of working well as a part of a team. Expertise in a variety of molecular biologic techniques is desired. The position will be under the supervision of Dr. Motaz Qadan, a surgeon scientist in the Division of Surgical Oncology, in the laboratory of Dr. Kenneth Tanabe.
The laboratory focuses on tumor biology, molecular imaging, and novel therapeutics for malignancies, particularly hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancers. The ideal candidate should have experience and motivation to pursue this line of investigation.
