Giessen, Germany

The Institute of Organic Chemistry at the Justus Liebig University offers within the DFG-funded program “Synthesis and Characterization of Functionalized Diamondoids and Heterodiamondoids“ a fulltime position for a

Research Associate

Research activities within the framework of the research project name above. In detail, this includes:

  • Preparation of organic white light-emitting materials based on functionalized and / or substituted diamondoid core structures to control the emission properties.
  • Organic synthesis, in particular by directed C-H functionalization of aliphatic hydrocarbons and their spectroscopic characterization (NMR, IR, UV, MS, etc.).
  • Particle sizing is used to identify useful candidates for subsequent physical measurements (in other FOR 2824 groups). The new molecules and materials will also be investigated by computational (density functional theory) methods to determine the effects of heteroatoms and functional groups on HOMO-LUMO energies, polarities, and spin distributions (in the case of radicals).
