Salary: Grade E64: £32,569 - £52,200 p.a.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Trials Doctor, who will be based in the Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit at the Churchill hospital, ideally full-time (but part-time or flexible applicants are encouraged). The post will be offered for 1 year in the first instance. The main focus of the role will be on the clinical management of cancer patients in early phase cancer clinical trials including first in human phase 1 trials. The successful candidate will need to obtain an Honorary NHS Contract in order to be able to fulfil this role.
It is also expected that the postholder will play a key role in clinical trial administration including assistance in the resolution of data queries, maintenance of study documentation, taking part in teleconferences with study sponsors and audit. The post requires an understanding of the oncological management of patients on chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other novel agents and so it is expected that the postholder will have prior experience in the clinical management of cancer patients.
There will be an opportunity for further training and career development relevant to the role and it may suit applicants that are interested in pursuing a training post in medical or clinical oncology in the future. The postholder will be a GMC registered Medical Practitioner (or will be eligible for registration) and will have relevant and substantial hospital service since first obtaining full or limited registration, including direct experience in managing cancer patients. They will also need previously held post-foundation hospital appointments in oncology, surgery or a related discipline.
All applicants must complete a short online application form and upload a CV and supporting statement.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 4th March 2019.
