The University of Veterinary Medicine in Hannover, Germany, is seeking to appoint a
in “Molecular and experimental virology”
at the Institute of Virology. Depending on credentials, the appointed professor will have the status of a German civil servant or be hired as an employee at salary scale W2.
Candidates are expected to carry out research and teaching in the discipline of virology in the context of virus infections of animals. We are looking for a candidate with outstanding research experience in molecular and clinical virology and animal testing. The successful candidate has an excellent track record evidenced by international publications and acquisition of extramural funding. A close collaboration is expected with other Tiho institutes and clinics as well as other research institutes in the Hannover area.
Experience with scientific research and teaching in the field of clinical and molecular virology including animal experimental experience with respect to virus infections of animals are basic requirements. A degree in veterinary medicine (DVM) is desired. Requirements include also teaching capacities, a PhD degree or equivalent, postdoctoral qualification or equivalent international academic qualification in an appropriate specialization.
Supporting documents and results of teaching evaluation must be submitted with the application. Further requirements for the position are governed by section 25 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG).
