Salary: Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 p.a.
Does coordinating IT and Information Governance in a busy department in the Nuffield Department of Medicine in the University of Oxford catch your attention? Were offering an opportunity in the Jenner Institute for the right person to lead its IT support and Information Governance as an associate of the Medical Sciences Division (MSD) IT services, with full access to its tools, staff, systems and procedures.
You will need to have a good grasp of the basic principles and importance of effective and timely IT support and Information Governance, and how they enable and support world-leading medical research. You will provide, monitor and broker IT support for the department, assisting staff and students by trouble-shooting problems, advising on purchasing, installing software, configuring equipment etc. As Information Governance lead, you will advise and signpost on matters of Information Governance, identifying and mitigating risk and ensuring compliance with legal and funding body requirements, in collaboration with the NDM Audit and Compliance Manager and the Business Manager.
You will have excellent customer service, analytical and reasoning skills, with hands-on front-line support experience and evidence of understanding the legal background and principles of Information Security Management Governance. Youll be willing to obtain an IG qualification. Evidence of ability to show the empathy, tact and diplomacy required for excellent customer service is vital.
The post is available full-time, for 3 years in the first instance.
