GMP Production Technician (PROx/Hyperpolarised Xenon)

We have an exciting opportunity for a GMP Production Technician to work in the day-to-day production of PET tracers in the PET Radiopharmacy Oxford’s (PROx) GMP Production Labs and in the manufacture of hyperpolarised xenon for the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.


Reporting to the PROx unit head and liaising day-to-day with the PET radiopharmacy and xenon GMP Production Manager and QP, you will be involved in the GMP production of GMP grade PET radiotracers and manufacture of hyperpolarised xenon for clinical studies. The successful candidate will participate in a wide range of tasks that include production, equipment and laboratory maintenance and incoming materials management. We seek a highly motivated individual who ensures that all work is carried out to the highest standard in compliance with local SOPs and the relevant GMP and MHRA guidelines.


This post provides a unique opportunity to contribute to become part of two production teams that manufacture products for clinical research.


You will require experience of working to GMP as well as experience of working in GMP clean rooms and isolators for dispensing, aseptic preparation and/or sterile manufacture of medicines. A demonstrable understanding of the principles of GMP and MHRA guidelines is essential, together with attention to detail and the ability to work to set protocols. You will also have a willingness to work with radioactive materials and the ability to adhere to statutory health and safety and radiation safety guidelines pertaining to a radiochemistry laboratory.


This is a full-time post and there may also be the requirement to participate in an out of hours/weekend rota. The post is available for 1 year in the first instance.
