Locum Associate/Senior Editor Nature Biotechnology (genomics, proteomics, single cell and computational biology)

Nature Biotechnology is Springer Nature’s premier research journal focusing on bioengineering.
It publishes research describing new concepts in biological technology of relevance to medicine, food/agriculture, chemicals, materials, energy and the environment. Areas covered include advances in genome engineering and editing, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics and other ‘omics, single-cell approaches, molecular and protein engineering, metabolic engineering and synthetic biology, immunoengineering (T cells, antibodies, vaccines), computational and systems biology, imaging technologies, adoptive and regenerative cellular therapies, genetic therapies and biomaterials and sensors, energy and plant/agricultural bioengineering.
We are seeking a researcher, preferably with a background in computational biology, single-cell analysis or omics analysis to join our team as a Locum Editor. Locum editors at Nature Biotechnology critically evaluate manuscripts for suitability for the journal, select appropriate peer reviewers and manage the peer review process as well as other editorial tasks designated by the Chief Editor.
Candidates must have a PhD in an area relevant to genetics, molecular biology, omics, or computational biology, preferably with postdoctoral experience and a strong research record. Applicants from academic labs or industry are welcome, although experience in a biotechnology company is not required for this role. Editorial experience is beneficial but not required.
This role is located in our London or New York offices. The position is offered on a full-time basis, for a fixed term of 6-12 months.
