The Department of Cell Biology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is looking to hire a Research Associate II. This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of experiments in a research laboratory with a focus on the role of STING and the Innate Immunity system in influencing inflammatory disease and tumorigenesis. Projects include evaluating novel STING-dependent adjuvants for the immunotherapeutic treatment of cancer as well as in new vaccine concepts to prevent infectious disease.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Microbiology and Immunology/Cancer. Experience with cell culture, Western blot, DNA and RNA purification, PCR. Experience in T-cells assays (CTL), ELISA, cancer models and immunotherapy. Flow cytometry knowledge is required but not essential. The incumbent will also be performing in vivo experiments using murine models. Previous experience with In-Vivo studies, and a strong knowledge of immunology is required; cell biology preferred. The candidate will need to be able to convey information effectively, to work independently, and to follow verbal and written instructions. Strong analytical skills are required. Individual must possess advanced knowledge and be capable of exercising considerable latitude for independent judgment, perform non-routine and complex laboratory duties requir ing advanced technical skills and proficiency for divisional faculty. Will receive general supervision from the PI of the laboratory.
