The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This position will conduct work in a drug discovery and pharmacology research laboratory. The Postdoctoral Associate will work in a multidisciplinary environment with molecular biologists, pharmacologists, chemists, engineers, and bioinformaticians. Th e Postdoctoral Associate will contribute to basic and applied research activities and other laboratory duties as assigned, participate in the publication of significant results, and advance expertise through education, training, and/or research experience. This position will also author peer-reviewed publications with the Principal Investigator.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Ph.D., M.D., or other doctoral-level degree. Prefer candidates with a background, through education and/or research experience, in a range of molecular biology techniques including quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot and ELISA immunoassays, and have some knowledge of pharmacology and physiology. Experience with animals is also desirable. Must be self-competent and well organized to be able to work and collaborate well with others. Demonstrated organizational and planning skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective in independ ent coordination.
