(Temporary) Research Associate (Firefighter Cancer Initiative)

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Research Associate. This position will assist in the systematic review and meta-analysis project of the Firefighter Cancer Initiative, under the direction of Dr. David Lee. Job re sponsibilities will include conducting literature searches, extracting papers for entry into a master database, coding data from papers selected for study inclusion, and contributing to the drafting of manuscripts and reports. The temporary Research Associate will be expected to have experience in Microsoft Excel and REDCap. He or she will also need strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study as well as at least one year of relevant work experience. Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza (“the flu”) season (September through April), the University of Miami School of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to hav e an annual influenza vaccination.
