Climate change-induced extreme events such as heat spells, heavy rainfall and flood events will continue to increase in the future. The Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research – UFZ is investigating the expected massive impacts on ecosystems and the consequential economic costs within Germany and Europe. The necessary prerequisites are high-resolution environmental system models running on high-performance computers and high-resolution in-situ and satellite remote sensing observation data sets. The UFZ operates observatories and novel observation systems for this purpose (e.g. TERENO or MOSES), infrastructure platforms (e.g. CITEpro), and modeling platforms (e.g. mHM or OGS). This results in growing challenges for dealing with large volumes of high quality data. Organizing the long-term availability of this research data and interfacing with research data platforms (e.g. NFDI or EOSC) requires an advanced research data management through the use of structured techniques in the collection, transmission, curation, integration, processing, and persistent storage of large amounts of data.
To strengthen research data management, we are looking for 4 employees (m / w / d) at the earliest possible date.
