The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tübingen invites applications for a position at the Department of Dermatology as a
W3 Professor of Dermatological Oncology
to commence on 01 October 2019.
The successful candidate is expected to represent the full spectrum of oncological dermatology at the Department of Dermatology, with a particular focus on melanomas. Specifically, a person is sought with a proven track record in the field of translational oncology. The requirements include comprehensive clinical experience in diagnostics and conservative treatments including chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate scientific excellence in basic and translational research. A person is therefore expected who will actively participate within the framework of clinical studies and of joint projects such as the Comprehensive Cancer Center Tübingen – Stuttgart and the Center for Personalized Medicine. The professorship is to focus on the treatment and development of translational treatments for the melanoma. The position includes patient care and the development of treatments across the field of conservative dermatooncology. The W3 Professorship will lead a section of the Department of Dermatology. Candidates are expected to prove that they have successfully obtained competitively-awarded third-party funding and excellence in teaching, and to show a strong publications list.
Required qualifications include a PhD or equivalent international degree and postdoctoral qualifications equivalent to the requirements for tenure, a qualification as a specialist doctor for skin and sexually-transmitted diseases, as well as proof of successful teaching experience.
