Two postdoctoral positions in cryoEM at VCU’s School of Medicine in Richmond, VA:
Position 1 – The candidate should have a PhD degree, prior experience in protein purification (ideally membrane proteins), cryoEM, and/or 3D structural determination. The postdoctoral fellow will carry out research on the structure of proteins involved in regulation of intracellular calcium and cell excitability. The laboratory is fully equipped for all aspects of protein purification, cryoEM (in-house cryoEM plus access to Titan Krios), computing, and offers an excellent training program.
Position 2 – The candidate should have a PhD degree in Computer Science, Physics, Biophysics, Structural Biology or a related field, and should have prior experience in image processing or atomic model building. Other desirable skills include knowledge in programming languages, and writing unix shell, Perl, and awk scripts. Experienced applicants with significant postdoctoral experience may be considered at a more senior level.
