The Kasson lab (http://kassonlab.org) is seeking postdoctoral researchers in the biophysics of enveloped viral entry. We are expanding our team of experimental and computational researchers as we unravel the entry mechanisms of influenza and related viruses. Individuals with a quantitative background in virology, membrane physical chemistry, or molecular simulation and machine learning will be a good match for this project.
The lab is a multidisciplinary, international team, and we seek talented and motivated researchers to join our combined experimental/computational laboratory. We use biophysical measurements (single-particle fluorescence microscopy, cryo-EM, fluorescence spectroscopy, mass spectrometry) together with molecular simulation and machine learning to solve pressing problems in infectious diseases.
Candidates should have (or obtain prior to starting) a PhD in Biophysics, Physical Chemistry, or a related field, preferably obtained within the past 2 years, a strong publication track record, strong English communication skills, scientific drive and curiosity, and the ability to work well in our team.
Informal inquiries can be submitted by emailing a CV, cover letter, and the names of 2 references to email@example.com. Formal applications are also welcome to the advertised positions on the university website.
We particularly encourage applicants who will contribute to the diversity of our discipline. Uppsala University is an equal opportunity employer.
