DESCRIPTION:
The Mayo Clinic Department of Immunology in Scottsdale, Arizona is seeking an exceptional early- to mid- career Scientist with an interest in the study of cancer immunology and/or immunotherapy.


The successful candidate will study molecular and cellular mechanisms of the immune response to cancer and lead an independent and nationally/internationally-recognized research program. This person will hold academic rank at Mayo Clinic commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The ideal candidate will be a laboratory-based investigator whose research program and interests innovatively impact the field of cancer immunotherapy. Specific areas of interest include innate and adaptive immunity to cancer, and cancer immunotherapy (checkpoint blockade, vaccine or T cell transfer). Faculty will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and may align with one or more institutional centers (e.g., biomedical discovery, cancer, individualized medicine, regenerative medicine).

Candidates holding a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, or MD) at all levels of academic rank will be considered for this faculty position. Junior investigators should have a strong publication record and evidence of successful competition for external funding is preferred. Senior candidates must have a strong publication record and history of NIH- or equivalent extramural funding. The selected individual is expected to develop and/ or maintain a nationally and internationally recognized extramurally funded research program. Several collaborative and translational opportunities exist, such as participation in NCI Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) grants, integrating all three Mayo sites (AZ, MN, and FL) and are strongly encouraged and supported.
