The Children’s Research Institute (CRI) at Children’s National Health System (CNHS) is seeking two tenure-eligible applicants for appointments at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Center for Neuroscience Research (CNR). We are seeking candidates with strong interests in developmental neuroscience, with an emphasis on translational models of neurodevelopmental disease. CNR is internationally known for its translational multidisciplinary research in neural development and neurodevelopmental disorders, and in developmental disabilities (http://childrensnational.org/research-and-education/center-for-neuroscience-research). CNR is currently home to more than 50 multidisciplinary investigators, with 10 laboratory-based, NIH-funded PIs. CNR is highly collegial and collaborative, housed in open space laboratories, with outstanding core facilities, including tissue microscopy, animal/human neurobehavior and neuroimaging.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. and/or M.D. and a strong record of research accomplishments suitable for tenure-track/tenured appointment through our academic partner, the George Washington University School of Medicine. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated and interactive and will be expected to maintain a vibrant independently funded research program. For candidates at the Associate Professor level, a demonstrated high level of research productivity and NIH RO1 or equivalent funding are required. Preferred areas of research focus include neural development and neurodevelopmental disorders, fetal and neonatal brain injury, and neurological pediatric diseases. Within these areas, expertise in advanced in vivo rodent brain imaging and human-derived in vitro models (organoids/iPSCs) are of high interest. A generous package of support and laboratory space will be provided for successful candidates to allow his/her research and the center’s programs to thrive in a nurturing academic and clinical environment.

Review of applications will begin immediately with submissions open until February 1, 2019. All application materials, including your CV and a letter describing qualifications, should be submitted electronically through the following link:
