The Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences in the Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine at the University of California San Francisco, seeks to hire a tenure track faculty member to mount an exciting research program, including mentoring students, postdoctoral fellows, and staff, and to teach graduate and professional students.

The unique opportunities for interactions between basic and clinical scientists at UCSF have motivated new technology development that links Big Data to molecular mechanism. We seek candidates who are large scale data analyzers and high throughput methodology creators: those who think about bridging biological information across spatial and temporal scales using large diverse datasets.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are interested in taking on leadership and teaching roles within UCSF’s graduate programs. Faculty participate in the Biophysics and Biomedical Informatics Graduate Programs, Joint UCSF/UCB Graduate Group in Bioengineering (JGGB), the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics (PSPG), the California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3), the Bakar Computational Health Sciences Institute and various other programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Applicants must have a doctoral degree or equivalent in biological, engineering or physical sciences, with a major focus on applications to biomedical problems.
• Demonstrated strong leadership skills
• Appropriate training or experience in area of expertise
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity

Preferred Qualifications:
• Teaching experience
• Excellent organization and communication skills
