The Institute for Neuroscience (Instituto de Neurociencias, IN, http://in.umh-csic.es/) is awarded Centre of Excellence in the frame of the Spanish national “Severo Ochoa Program”. It recognizes the IN as the most relevant brain research institute in Spain, and places it on the list of the most prominent research centres in Europe. The Institute is organized into functional research units that are flexible and serve as a framework that facilitates research activities and stimulates interaction and scientific collaboration among its members. It has an Excellence PhD Training Programme in Neurosciences, providing courses and research training to graduate students in several areas of basic neurosciences.
INPhINIT-Incoming www.inphinitlacaixa.org is a doctoral fellowship programme devoted to attract international Early-Stage Researchers to the top Spanish research centres. It is promoted by the la Caixa Banking Foundation (CBF), a Spanish social, non-profit organisation that aims to contribute to the progress of people and society. Since 1982, CBF manages fellowship programmes, by means of which over 4,000 young talented fellows have been awarded grants to take postgraduate studies.
In 2019, INPhINIT will recruit 35 Early-Stage Researchers of any nationality, who will enjoy a 3-year employment contract at the Spanish Research Centre of Excellence of their choice. In addition, researchers establish a personal career development plan including transnational and interdisciplinary mobility opportunities, and attend a full range of complementary training courses and workshops.
