Job description:

The “Scale-up of Catalytic Processes" group at Institute of Catalysis Research and Technology (IKFT) focus its research in the conversion of CO2-rich syngas to fuel compounds and important chemicals such as methanol and dimethylether (DME) at lab-scale using both commercial and in-house prepared catalysts.

The aim of this project is to perform kinetic investigations in order to improve the current understanding of the studied system and to deliver a basis for process modelling and optimization. For this purpose, kinetic experiments in a fixed bed or in a berty (CSTR) reactor at different conditions have to be conducted and evaluated.

Responsibilities involve:

- Literature research and Training in lab-work
- Experimental kinetic investigations in a fixed bed reactor
- Results evaluation and discussion

Chemical and process engineering or in a related area. Basic knowledge and experience in chemical process engineering, technical chemistry and practical laboratory activities, as well as in catalysis are desired. Besides the professional qualification, strong commitment, independent and self-responsible working including fluent verbal and written English or German skills are expected.

 

 

Contract Duration:

6 months according to study regulations
