As German Research Center for Environmental Health, Helmholtz Zentrum München pursues the goal of developing personalized medical approaches for the prevention and therapy of major common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, allergies and lung diseases. To achieve this, it investigates the interaction of genetics, environmental factors and lifestyle.
A newly founded DFG Emmy Noether research lab is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to work on metagenomic analysis of polluted viral and microbial communities.PhD in Virology (f/m/diverse)
Work on metagenomic analysis of polluted viral and microbial communities.
- Master in virology, microbiology, molecular biology, (environmental) genomics, microbial ecology or a related field
- Experience in any of the following areas: viral genomics, metagenomics, NGS
- Fluency in English both spoken and written
- Experience with flow cytometers is advantageous
