Description:The focus of this project will be the computational design of specific ligands as novel diagnostic probes for neuroinflammation. The PhD research activities will employ Bioinformatics and Molecular Dynamics simulations as well as Computational Pharmacology, Cheminformatics and Machine Learning. The project is in joint collaboration with Grünenthal GmbH and Taros Chemicals GmbH & Co. KG.
The PhD activity will be located at the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany. It offers a highly cross-disciplinary environment due to a strong collaboration with the RWTH Aachen University, Germany.
Your Profile:Master degree in Physics, Chemistry, Bioinformatics or a related field.Basic Knowledge of Machine Learning approachesExperience in theoretical (Bio-)Chemistry and/or in PhysicsBasic knowledge of computational biology techniques as well as Unix operative system is highly appreciatedGood spoken and written EnglishCommunication and teamwork skills
