Salary: Grade 6: £29,515 - £34,189 p.a.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated research nurse with a strong interest in and aptitude for clinical research. You will support LOSE-AF: an innovative clinical trial sponsored by Oxford University, which aims to investigate the effect of weight loss in older overweight/obese patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Your main responsibilities will be to assist the study investigators with study-related tasks.
You will help substantially with the screening process of potential participants, preparation & postage of study material. During study visits you will acquire participant data as per protocol to include venepuncture, cannulation, vital signs, questionnaires, physical performance test.
You will need to be a registered Nurse: entry on either part 1 or 12 of the NMC register and educated to degree level or equivalent experience. Have evidence of a broad range of well-developed clinical skills with at least 2 years post-registration experience in an acute setting, preferably cardiology/cardiothoracic surgery.
This is a full-time appointment based at the West Wing of the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. This post is available immediately until 31 March 2020 (with the possibility of an extension) and is funded by the Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and the European society of cardiology (ESC).
