We have a Postdoctoral Research Scientist training opportunity available, working in the innovative epigenetics/cellular genomics group headed by John Greally at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in a collaborative project with colleagues at the New York Genome Center. Diverse applicants are encouraged to apply.
This appointment will involve the training of a post-doctoral scientist to become an outstanding researcher adept in molecular and computational biological skills. The focus of the NIH-funded project will be on the cellular genomic events in human ageing, purifying T lymphocytes from a human cohort and performing genome-wide functional and genotyping assays on the samples. A track record demonstrating extensive experience with such assays will be a major asset.
The training of the Postdoctoral Research Scientist will involve gaining expertise in genome-wide assays and data analyses, travel to participate in conferences or courses, and interactions with colleagues in the New York Genome Center. The goal will be to develop the trainee to become an independent researcher.
The group values collegiality, responsibility, empathy, meticulous care with experiments, and a good sense of humour.
The group is committed to equity and inclusion. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
Candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent degree in molecular genetics, cell biology, or a closely related field, and postgraduate expertise (in academia or industry) in genome-wide assays and cellular studies. Physician-scientists are encouraged to apply.
The position is full-time, subject to a probationary evaluation and renewable annually.
You will be required to upload a CV and a supporting statement as part of your application to Dr. John Greally at firstname.lastname@example.org
