The Carl Gustav Carus Faculty of Medicine of the Technische Universität Dresden announces the opening of a
Chair (W2) of Physiological Chemistry and Molecular Biology
to be filled by April 1st, 2020.
The professorship is embedded in the Institute of Physiological Chemistry, director: Prof. Dr. Rolf Jessberger, and represents Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in teaching and research. Based on your experience in teaching you offer engagement in the entire spectrum of education of students of human medicine and dentistry at the level of 8 hours per week during the semester. Research at the Institute focuses on aspects of oncology, molecular immunology, gametogenesis, DNA- and chromosome dynamics and cytosceletal processes. We welcome your enthusiasm to perform internationally competitive research in one or several of these or closely related areas with a focus on human/mammalian research, based on your successful previous publications and acquisition of external funding, and expect you to participate in existing or planned program project grant initiatives of this faculty and of TU Dresden. We would also like to encourage you to get actively involved in academic affairs and self-governance.
Prerequisites according to § 58 SächsHSFG include a university degree and a doctoral degree in a directly relevant discipline such as biochemistry, biology, chemistry, medicine or similar, and postdoctoral experience or other experience equivalent to the German habilitation.
