Who we are

This position is funded by Genomics Aotearoa, a national network, funded to improve capability in, and outcomes from, genomics in New Zealand. This position will be part of a nationally distributed team across universities and Crown Research Institutes.

The Role

As a Bioinformatics and Data Science Trainer, you will be an enthusiastic and talented individual who will assist with the coordination and delivery of our bioinformatics training programme. This new role provides an exciting opportunity, working with an outstanding national team, to develop and deliver advanced bioinformatics and data science training material for genomic scientists.

Your Skills and experience:
•Have an MSc (Assistant Research Fellow role) or PhD degree (Scientific Officer role) in statistics, bioinformatics or genomics.
•Prior experience in the use of statistical and bioinformatics methods in the analysis of genomic data.
•Experience in the delivery of training material to non-specialist end-users.

Further details

This position will ideally be full-time, although a part-time position could be negotiated with the successful candidate. This position is fixed term for up to two years (depending on hours of work – to be negotiated), and is available for immediate start.
