The Developmental Neurobiology Department of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a Staff Scientist to join an established research laboratory working in the fields of synaptogenesis and neurodegeneration. The individual will have extensive experience and knowledge of adult and developing mammalian neuroanatomy at the circuit, cellular and subcellular levels and have advanced skills in neuroanatomical methods including immunohistochemistry and ideally electron microscopy and tract tracing.
The role requires working closely with the Principal Investigator to develop and execute projects, coordinate interactions with other laboratory staff as well as institutional shared resource directors and collaborators. Highly collaborative with excellent communication skills and great attention to detail, the Staff Scientist will be experienced in crafting manuscripts, presenting research at in-house and national meetings, and writing grants. Will provide leadership, coaching and mentoring and serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems.
• A Ph.D. in an appropriate scientific field is required
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant and productive (combined) years postdoctoral research associate or five (5) years of combined academic experience at the postdoctoral level or above.
