The World’s Brightest Minds Always Innovate
At St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, we know what can be achieved when the brightest scientific minds face the fewest barriers. That’s why we provide world-class facilities. State-of-the-art technologies. Extraordinary support. And a collaborative, bench-to-bedside environment where you can see, firsthand, how your science translates into survival for the children we serve. Quite simply, at St. Jude, we encourage you to dream big, and we give you everything you need to be the force behind our cures.
The Division of Experimental Hematology encompasses the laboratory-based research within the Department of Hematology. Our mission is to make clinically relevant discoveries in non-malignant hematology. The Division is highly interactive involved with collaborations between laboratories and several international consortia and prioritizes high quality translational research. The Wlodarski laboratory has two major areas of focus: identification of genetic causes of bone marrow failure and myelodysplastic syndromes in children, and elucidating the function of affected genes using basic research techniques in vitro and in vivo.
The successful candidate will employ mouse genetics and cell biology to study the effect of newly identified genetic entities in children with bone marrow failure and myelodysplastic syndromes. In addition, the candidate will initiate and conduct independent experiments leading to successful publications and grants, and provide supervision to other scientists in disease modeling techniques. The work will involve other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
The ideal candidate will be a dedicated scientist with several years of postdoctoral experience and knowledge of murine hematopoiesis and general cell biology.
