DESY is one of the world’s leading research centres for photon science, particle and astroparticle physics as well as accelerator physics. More than 2400 employees work at our two locations Hamburg and Zeuthen in science, technology and administration.

The Zeuthen location of DESY has a strong focus on astroparticle physics (, particularly gamma-ray and neutrino astronomy. The experimental groups are accompanied by a strong astroparticle theory group.

The position

H.E.S.S. (High Energy Stereoscopic System) Data Analysis and InterpretationWork on H.E.S.S. Data Acquisition System: preparation, implementation system upgrade in Namibia, maintenance user support


P.h.D in physics, astronomy, or astroparticle physicsExperience in data acquisition systems in astroparticle physics, particle physics or astronomyKnowledge in software management and Linux networkingExperience in data analysis in astroparticle physics, astronomy or particle physics

Salary and benefits are commensurate with those of public service organisations in Germany. Classification is based upon qualifications and assigned duties.
