Tsinghua University School of Medicine invites applications for multiple faculty positions at junior and senior levels in microbiology and/ or infectious diseases to join the Center for Infectious Disease Research at Tsinghua. The mission of the Center is to promote understanding of the molecular mechanisms by which microbial pathogens cause diseases and resist antimicrobials.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. with a track record of excellent research accomplishments in studying pathogenic mechanisms of bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites; host-pathogen interactions; microbial genomics; host responses to microbial diseases; vaccine research, microbiota, antimicrobial resistance, and other relevant research areas.
The successful candidate will be joining a growing team of faculty with expertise in bacterial and viral pathogenesis. Tsinghua University is one of the leading research universities in China. The Schools of Medicine and Life Sciences host well-established research programs in microbiology, immunology, structural biology, stem cell biology, development, neuroscience, cancer biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. There will be ample opportunity for collaboration. All faculty members have full access to the recently established core facilities in cell biology, protein science, genomics, and animal research.
Successful candidates will receive an internationally competitive startup package (~US$1 million in startup funds, 2 Ph.D. student slots/year). Rank will be commensurate with experience.
