Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the supervision of Dr Brianna Heazlewood on an EPSRC-funded research project for a period of 24 months. The project, Trapping ion-molecule reaction intermediates, involves the experimental study of reactive collisions under cold, controlled conditions. Find out more about the research at: http://heazlewood.chem.ox.ac.uk/home. The successful applicant will undertake experimental research in the area of cold ion-neutral reactions. He or she will work with graduate students, other postdoctoral researchers and collaborators.
You should have a PhD in experimental physical chemistry or a relevant area of physics. You should have expertise in the use of lasers and vacuum systems, and be familiar with or willing to learn ion trapping techniques. Experience in instrument design would be advantageous.
The post will be based in the Physical and Theoretical Chemistry, South Parks Road, Oxford.
Only applications received before 12.00 midday on 30 November 2018 can be considered.
