Professor of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine
The appointment will be on UCL Grade Professorial. The salary range will be At an appropriate point on the UCL Professorial pay scale, inclusive of London Allowance.
We are seeking to appoint a Professor of stem cells and regenerative medicine, who will help develop the strategic research in the regenerative medicine area. The professor will be attached to the Research Department of Surgical Biotechnology, at the Royal Free campus.
This is a new appointment for a Professor with a world leading reputation and publications, and a track record of gaining funded research in the fields of stem cells, stem cell-biomaterial interactions, reconstruction/regeneration/transplantation.
The professor will help develop the strategic research area for regenerative medicine, at the UCL Royal Free Campus and is expected to strengthen the existing regenerative medicine network across disciplines.
The appointment will be key to the cross-disciplinary campus-wide initiative in regenerative medicine, also aligned with research initiatives by the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust.
The postholder must possess a higher academic degree e.g. PhD, or evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications along with a world-leading reputation in the field of stem cells, stem cell-biomaterial interactions, decellularisation, reconstruction/regeneration/transplantation.
A world-leading record of scholarly publications that will make a positive contribution to the international Regenerative Medicine field, knowledge and understanding of the principles of resource and budgetary management and an awareness of Higher Education issues and the possible implications for the department are all essential.
Candidates must have a track record of high quality original research and extensive publications in high quality peer-reviewed scientific journals and conferences, an active research profile at international level with a continuing track record of external research grant funding and excellent communication skills/verbal and written.
