Postdoc Fellowship in Experimental Cancer Biology and Single Cell Systems

Postdoc Fellowship in Experimental Cancer Biology and Single Cell Systems

The University of Texas at Austin and MD Anderson Cancer Center

Austin, TX, United States

The University of Texas at Austin and MD Anderson Cancer Center jointly invite applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in Experimental Cancer Biology and Single Cell Systems Biology starting immediately. We have a longstanding interest in the fundamental question on genotype-phenotype relationships. In the era of precision medicine, we integrate high-throughput experimental approaches with single cell systems biology to identify genetic and epigenetic biomarkers, and synthetic lethal mechanisms underlying cancer and neuroscience for personalized medicine in the laboratory of Prof. Song (Stephen) Yi. Using state-of-the-art technologies, the postdoctoral research will be performed in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment with pioneering basic science experts and clinical physician scientists, which provide ideal career development opportunities for postdocs. Prof. Yi is a tenure-track faculty member of Dell Medical School of the University of Texas at Austin. He is also affiliated faculty with the Institute of Cellular and Molecular Biology and Department of Biomedical Engineering. Prof. Yi is a recognized expert in cancer systems biology and functional genomics/proteomics. Successful candidates will also be jointly supervised by Prof. Nidhi Sahni at MD Anderson Cancer Center, who is a prestigious Sloan Scholar and CPRIT scholar. Our recent representative publications include Cell (2015), 161: 647-60; Nature Rev. Genetics (2017), 18: 395-410; Cell (2017), 168: 856-66; Cancer Cell (2018), 33: 450-62; Nature Commun. (2018), 9: 1317; TIBS (2018), 43: 576-92.
